It has been my way of making friends, telling stories, and learning things about myself I never would have found any other way. I believe music has a genuinely transformative power — and that with the right guidance, every student can feel and hear that transformation in themselves.
There's a saying I love: we are all making noise from the moment we're born. Music is just a formal way of using it. As a teacher, my goal is for students to leave every lesson not only knowing what to work on, but recognizing the life lessons hidden between the notes. We will grow as people and clarinetists simultaneously.
